Individual Therapy For Children (age 12+), Adolescents And Adults
Psychotherapy and individual therapy sessions for children, adolescents and adults are weekly and approximatley 45-50 minutes in length. Emily works psychodynamically, not cognitive behaviorally. Her methods are a collaboration of unearthing conscious and unconscious patterns that are no longer adaptive, and understanding how the past informs the present. She works towards an understanding of how the mind functions and how behavior is formed. To note, many patients have found psychodynamic therapy effective when other modalities have failed.
Family therapy sessions are weekly and approximately 60-90 minutes in length. Emily examines familial patterns and the dynamics between family members are identified and explored.
Psychoanalysis is an in-depth, intense treatment, in which the patient and Emily meet two to four times per week. Psychoanalysis is for patients who are interested in an experiential and insight-oriented treatment.
Insurance is not accepted. Patients may file their own insurance claims with a superbill that is provided at the end of each month.
